Val Swisher, CEO

Val Swisher, CEO

Content Rules founder Val Swisher leads our team of content experts and has predicted a number of important content trends. She runs the content strategy, global content strategy, and content optimization service lines for the company. Val has more than two decades of experience and is a well-known expert on global readiness, intelligent content, and Acrolinx software. She speaks frequently at industry conferences and is a sought-after guest on webinars and podcasts. In her view, content should be easy to read, cost-effective to translate, and efficient to manage.

Val is a Board Member for Translators without Borders. In addition, she runs the Simplified English program. Translators without Borders provides other nongovernmental organizations with much-needed translations for humanitarian causes around the globe. Val is also part of the academic advisory team at UCSF Medical Center, where she helps medical students simplify their English content as part of the WikiProject: Medicine program.

Val is the author of three books: “Global Content Strategy: A Primer” (XML Press); “Mastering Network Management” (Numidia Press); and “The Comprehensive Guide to Computer Telephony Integration” (CT Institute).

When not blogging, Val can be found at her sewing machine, working on her latest quilt. She also makes a hummus that’s as piquant as her sense of humor.

Tim Steele is the President of Content Rules. Tim is responsible for the content development service line, providing perfectly matched content development help to our large customer base. In addition, Tim runs client services and operations for the company.

Before working for Content Rules, Tim held various positions as COO, VP of Finance, and VP of Internal Operations. He also spent 15 years in instructional design and web-based training. He has spearheaded trainings for the worldwide implementation of SAP for Hewlett Packard and has led teams of instructional designers, graphic artists, editors, and web developers in creating solutions for such clients as Cisco, Intel, Gap, and Logitech.

After living in Michigan, Florida, Chicago, and New York, Tim is now happy to call California home. He spends much of his free time teaching his dog, Juno, tricks. Juno can do 55 tricks today and is well on her way to 100. He is also a frequent visitor to the Santa Clara dog park.

Greg Swisher, CTO of Content Rules, is the mastermind behind all of our technology solutions. He keeps the Content Rules infrastructure ticking, and he heads up software deployment and integration.

Greg has worked in the networking and technology industry for over 30 years. Before joining Content Rules, he was Technical Support Manager for Terayon Communication Systems. He also spent over a decade at 3Com Corporation as a Manager in the Multimedia Lab and as a Senior Technical Support Engineer.

You can usually find Greg sitting behind his computer. Or sitting on his bike. Luckily, not at the same time.
