Due to coronavirus concerns, these conferences have been adapted into the new conVEx conference:

“Offered as a replacement to DITA NA, DITA Europe, and Journeys for 2020, ConVEx is not an online simulation of an in-person conference, but an immersive experience designed from the ground up to use our e-resources in the best possible way to bring you a wealth of ideas and information to support your efforts in defining and executing a comprehensive content strategy.”

As always, this conference brings together the best in the business to share success stories, best practices, real-world lessons learned, and emerging trends. More than 80 presenters will address the challenges that most organizations face as they swim in the sea of componentized content. How to build the business case. How to migrate your content (and your people) to the new paradigm. And most importantly, how to maximize the effectiveness of your content all along the way.

This year also brings something new — the first-ever Journeys conference, held in parallel with DITA North America. Journeys seeks to help us expand beyond the silos. The Journeys sessions encourage cross-department collaboration to provide users with a unified message, no matter where the content originates (including marketing, support, training, or technical documentation).

At DITA North America, you can catch Val Swisher, CEO of Content Rules, speaking about how content transformation is essential to a successful content strategy. Then you can get hands-on with Regina Lynn Preciado, Senior Content Strategist at Content Rules, in the workshop session Put the Principles into Practice: Creating Content for Reuse.

At Journeys, Val Swisher co-presents Terminology and Taxonomy as Foundations for Content Strategy with Ben Colburm, director of technical communications at Nutanix. This session is a “customer success story” about how Nutanix applies terminology and taxonomy guidelines to help the company better deliver consistent customer content experiences.
