Tomorrow, I will be attending the Apps Go Global conference. It is being held at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. There is a diverse speaker list lined up from the world of application development and localization.

I am particularly looking forward to the keynote, “The Mobile App Developer’s Guide to Global Primetime,” being delivered by Don DePalma of the Common Sense Advisory. Other speakers include:

  • Boyd Timothy (Appigo)
  • Aaron Schliem (Glyph Language Services)
  • Danica Brinton (Zynga)
  • Bo Lin (iPhone Localizer)
  • Daniel Plant (Playdom/Disney)
  • Ulrich Henes (The Localization Institute)

After carousing with so many content localization folks, it will be interesting to hear about the challenges that software developers face when trying to make their applications  global ready.

Of course, I will be on the lookout for opportunities where the ContentRules IQ software will be valuable. For example, UI strings that will be localized and translated can definitely benefit from a serious quality check for terminology, style, grammar, and translatability prior to translation.

And, I’m going to meet all kinds of new people! That’s always the fun part. I will be tweeting from the event using the #globalapps hashtag and blogging about what I learn, too.
